Sweet, smoky, and just the right amount of heat, this homemade Jalapeño Bacon Jam is the ultimate topping for burgers, smoked cream cheese, sandwiches, and more. Made with crispy bacon, sweet onions, fresh jalapeños, and Heath Riles BBQ Maple Honey Habanero Glaze, this easy recipe delivers bold flavor in every bite.

Sweet, Smoky & Spicy Jalapeño Bacon Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1½ pounds thick-cut bacon, chopped

  • 1 sweet onion, diced

  • 1 jalapeño, deseeded and diced

  • 3-4 teaspoons minced garlic

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  • ¼ cup Heath Riles BBQ Maple Honey Habanero Glaze

  • ½ cup brown sugar

Directions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped bacon until crispy.

  2. Remove the bacon, leaving 2 to 3 tablespoons of bacon grease in the skillet.

  3. Add the diced onion and jalapeño and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.

  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Add the black pepper, red pepper flakes, apple cider vinegar, Maple Honey Habanero Glaze, and brown sugar. Stir until combined.

  6. Return the bacon to the skillet and reduce the heat to low.

  7. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened while leaving a small amount of liquid for the best consistency.

  8. Serve warm over burgers, smoked cream cheese, sandwiches, or your favorite grilled dishes.
